IN 1994, THE LARGEST OIL CATASTROPHE EVER TO TAKE PLACE ON LAND, OCCURRED IN THE NORTH RUSSIAN KOMI REPUBLIC.

MORE THAN 100,000 TONS OF OIL CONTAMINATED THE EARTH. THE LOCALS ARE STILL FIGHTING AGAINST THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THIS ONGOING ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER TODAY.
